Electric car maker Tesla Inc. plans to open a service center in Virginia Beach. The company has signed a lease for a 9,580-square-foot space at 573 Central Drive in Virginia Beach, a Tesla spokesman said.
Unlike Tesla’s two other locations in Virginia, in western Henrico County and near Tyson’s Corner, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that this location will be a service center, not a showroom where customers can shop for cars.
The new location will enable Tesla owners in Hampton roads to get repairs that the companies’ mobile teams can’t perform without having to go to Richmond or other Tesla locations.
