Virginia, your reproductive rights are on the ballot this November.
Unlike other southern states, Virginia has yet to ban abortions, but the Virginia Constitution does not recognize or protect reproductive rights.
This November, we have the chance to change that. You have the chance to solidify these rights by voting “yes” to the reproductive freedom amendment, but there are also plenty of other ways to show your support for reproductive freedom.
Here are some ways you can take action:
Actions
The reproductive freedom amendment is one of the best ways to ensure reproductive rights remain for all Virginians for generations to come. If this amendment is added to Virginia’s Constitution, Virginians will have autonomy over miscarriage management, birth control, childbirth, abortion, and much more.

Volunteer at Planned Parenthood
One of the best ways to provide direct support to reproductive rights is to help the organization responsible for giving thousands of Virginians care every day, Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood and its Virginia branch, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia, provide a plethora of services and resources to Virginians in need. Their organization goes far beyond just abortion care; Planned Parenthood also provides services like birth control management, Pap smears, and much more.
Planned Parenthood is always looking for volunteers; to find out more, visit the ‘take action’ page on their website.
Can’t make it in person to volunteer, but have a reproductive health story to tell? You can share your repro health story on their website, so that no one has to feel alone when asking for help.
Sign a petition
Petitions are one of the best ways to show lawmakers what their citizens want. Before you vote on the reproductive freedom amendment this November, take a pledge with Planned Parenthood, REPRO Rising, or ACLU of Virginia to show your support.
Have an event to add? Email State Organizing Coordinator Ava Edwards at ava@couriernewsroom.com. Please send details at least one week before the event.
