Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones released the following video after NextEra Energy and Dominion Energy filed a merger application with the State Corporation Commission. If approved, the deal would combine two of the nation’s largest electric utilities, with potential implications for electricity rates, grid reliability, clean energy investments, and utility oversight across Virginia. The SCC now has 180 days to review and decide whether the merger is in the public interest.
