State Del. Irene Shin (D-Herndon) voiced her opposition to the proposed merger of Dominion Energy and NextEra Energy at a hearing in Fairfax County on Oct. 9. Dogwood caught up with Shin after the hearing to learn more about her opposition to the $67 billion proposal that’s attracted intense scrutiny from communities and state leaders. “ NextEra brings with them a long track record of dirty political tricks in Florida,” Shin said. “And given the reputation that Dominion has in Richmond too, I’m not sure that we wanna get into bed and add more political drama and intrigue to the political landscape here in Virginia.”
