Democratic Sen. Mark Warner won a fourth term representing Virginia on Nov. 3, defeating Republican Bert Mizusawa. In his victory speech, Warner took aim at President Donald Trump for demanding personal loyalty, attacking democratic institutions, and pursuing the ‘reckless’ war in Iran. Warner also criticized the administration’s priorities as Americans struggle with grocery bills and electricity costs, saying the president should be focused on helping working families rather than personal enrichment.
