Loudoun Indivisible: First Friday Freedom and Justice Vigil (Leesburg, 4:30-6 p.m.)
A local gathering supporting civil rights, freedom of speech, and general progressive values.
Saturday (Aug. 8) League of Women Voters’ National Day of Action
On Aug. 8, the League of Women Voters will host hundreds of civic action events across the country to celebrate the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
Across the nation, attendees will take part in rallies aimed at increasing voter turnout and registration, as well as voter education for new voters. Virginia will have plenty of these events to choose from. Here are some ways you can take part in an action near you.

A peaceful protest on the corner of Jefferson Ave. and Oyster Point Rd.
Monday (Aug. 10)
Spotsylvania County Democratic Committee: School Board Meeting (Fredericksburg, 5:30-8 p.m.)

Indivisible NOVA West: Getting Ready for the Midterms (Virtual, 6-7 p.m.)
A virtual meeting discussing voter registration and the midterms in November.
Wednesday (Aug. 12)
Virginia Grassroots: Resist & Persist Protest (7:30-9 a.m.)
A weekly protest at Virginia Beach’s Town Center.
Working Families Party: Central VA Canvass (Richmond, 5:30-7:30 p.m.)
A canvassing event in Richmond neighborhoods. This event is tied to a national listening project to better understand the working class’s struggles.
