Gov. Abigail Spanberger has restored voting rights to over 66,000 Virginians with past felony convictions since she took office. This is a sharp break from former Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s case-by-case system, which left thousands waiting for a decision. Virginia voters will also consider a constitutional amendment in November that would make rights restoration automatic after a person completes their sentence, rather than leaving it up to the governor.
