Brittany Ramirez Corona, an 18-year-old U.S. citizen from Norfolk, Virginia, says ICE agents detained her after she went to retrieve her husband’s vehicle following his detainment by immigration enforcement. Ramirez Corona says she told agents she was born in Norfolk and showed identification, but was still taken into custody while her 4-year-old and 15-year old sisters were with her. She said she was released only after her sister brought her birth certificate to the federal building to prove her citizenship.
