Do you know how nice it is to have good friends? I messaged one of mine on Friday morning and told her—panicking—there was no possible way I could get this newsletter put together with the significant home repair issues we were unexpectedly facing that day… well, week.
Last Monday, a small roof leak turned into a bigger issue. We had someone out to repair it, and we were thankful to have that behind us. Then on Friday, we awoke to water all over our bathroom floor. That drainage issue cost $1,000 upfront, and we’re looking at our options this week for a more permanent fix.
My friend jumped into action. I sent her a rough outline of content I’d like to feature for y’all, and she put together everything. Another friend got to work quickly to find some great opportunities for civic engagement this week near the end of the newsletter.
So while I might not be rich financially anymore (especially after we get the full repair quote later today), I’m rich in a way that counts a lot more than dollars. I’m rich in friendship, and because of that, I’m truly blessed. Thanks, Kim and Ava, for keeping this ship afloat; I’m so glad you’re here.
