Have you ever had one of those throwback moments? When I went to the grocery store last week, my husband asked if Iād pick up some Greek yogurt. He loves it, I like it, and our 8-year-old loathes it (Colton says itās too tart for his taste buds). I picked up the blueberry flavor, but before I closed the door to the refrigerated display, I saw something I havenāt thought about since I was around Coltonās age: GoGurt.
If youāre unfamiliar, itās exactly what it sounds likeāyogurt on the go. Instead of coming in cups, GoGurt comes in pouches. It was on sale, so I grabbed a box for $3 and took it home. Colton, of course, was skeptical. But at nearly 11 p.m. one night when he asked for a snack after being tucked in, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to give it a try.
Short story short, he absolutely loved it. And my impulse buy on the yogurt aisle was a success. Have you recently found a grocery item on sale that made you happy? Iāve been doing more grocery pickup orders lately. Why? Not only does it save time, but it also stops me from making small impulse buys that add up quickly.
Last week, I didnāt have time to place an order before dinner, so I went to Food Lion and walked inside. I mustāve had a sign on me that said ātalk to me about grocery pricesā because despite not filming a Beauty and the Budget episode for this grocery haul, folks wanted to chat.
I had two complete strangers stop me in the butter aisle to talk about how high thingsāve gotten. They werenāt offhanded comments, eitherāthey were actual conversations. People down here in Southside are truly feeling the strain. Now, Iām wondering how things are in your neck of the woods.
