On January 18, during the legislative sessions, a proposal was introduced by Delegate Jeion A. Ward (D-87) to increase the minimum wage. The goal is to raise the minimum wage from $12.00 per hour to $13.50 per hour, starting January 1, 2025, to $15.00 per hour beginning January 1, 2026. The public was invited to testify on why this bill should be passed to help the families of our Commonwealth.
