Friday (Feb. 20)
Williamsburg JCC Indivisible: Freedom Fridays: MINNESOTA, THE PEACEFUL HEARTBEAT OF AMERICAN RESISTANCE!, (Williamsburg, 12 – 1 pm)
A protest against ICE and in support of demonstrations in Minnesota. This event takes place outside of the Williamsburg/James City County Courthouse.
NVR Indivisible: Know Your Rights Presentation and Q&A, (Blacksburg, 6 – 8 pm)
A know your rights information session and Q&A from an immigration attorney.
Saturday (Feb. 21)
COVA Coalition: Rise Up! Rally in Chesapeake, (Chesapeake, 9 – 10 am)
A weekly morning rally for general progressive values.
Suffolk Democratic Committee: Resist! Sidewalk Protest in North Suffolk, (Suffolk, 10 – 11 am)
A sidewalk demonstration protesting the Trump administration.
Third Act and Indivisible: Fight for Democracy – Out with ICE, (Tysons, 11 am – 12 pm)
A rally for Northern Virginia in protest against the Trump administration, ICE, and hate.
Farmville Visibility Brigade: February Action Visibility Event, (Farmville, 12 pm)
A peaceful protest for unity outside the Prince Edward Courthouse on both Friday (4:30 – 5:30 pm) and Saturday (12 – 1 pm).
Sunday (Feb. 22)
Old Dominion University: ODU Day of Music, Poetry & Good Trouble – Honoring Renee Good, (Norfolk, 1 – 9 pm)
A day-long tribute to ODU alumna, Renee Good, after her murder at the hands of ICE agents.
Indivisible Arlington: Signs of Democracy Arlington, (Arlington, 2 – 4 pm)
A weekly protest against authoritarianism in the United States.
Monday (Feb. 23)
Historical Triangle Democrats: Book Club: Democracy in Chains, (Williamsburg, 6 pm)
A quarterly book club covering the book “Democracy in Chains: The Deep History of the Radical Right’s Stealth Plan for America” by Nancy MacLean.
Tuesday (Feb. 24)
Amelia County Democratic Committee: Monthly Meeting, (Virtual, 6 – 8 pm)
A virtual monthly meeting for the Democratic Committee of Amelia County.
Wednesday (Feb. 25)
Virginia Grassroots: Resist & Persist Weekly Protest, (Virginia Beach, 7:30 – 9 am)
A weekly protest at the corners of Independence and Virginia Beach Blvd.
Thursday (Feb. 26)
VA Civic Engagement Table: Virginia Progressive Leadership Program Info Session, (Virtual, 11 am)
A virtual informational session and interest meeting for working with the Virginia Progressive Leadership Program.
