Sheetz is providing some temporary relief for those experiencing the pains at the pump ahead of the July 4th holiday.
Effective immediately, the Pennsylvania-based convenience store and gas station chain with more than 90 locations throughout the commonwealth has announced they will be reducing the cost of fuel to $3.99 a gallon for Unleaded 88, and to $3.49 a gallon for E85 through the July 4th holiday travel season.
Unleaded 88 is approved by the EPA for use in vehicles for model years 2001 or newer as well as light-duty trucks, SUVs, and Flex Fuel Vehicles.
E85 contains more ethanol (51%-83%) and is not compatible with all vehicles. It is designed specifically for flexible fuel vehicles, or FFVs.
John Fetterman, the Democratic candidate running for Senate in Pennsylvania, offered his regional flex on behalf of his beloved Sheetz:
The temporary reduction is a significant price cut for many people who live in Virginia, or for those will be planning to travel through the state ahead of the holiday weekend. As of Wednesday, the average cost for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Virginia was $4.68, according to AAA. Prices are still hovering around the $5 mark in parts of Northern Virginia, while prices in locations further south and west throughout Virginia are hovering around $4.52 per gallon. The national average sits at $4.86 a gallon.
