We’re back with the latest edition of Dogwood Dog of the Week. So without further ado, meet Scooby.
Scooby resides at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. Here’s what they had to say about their “Best Goodest Boy.”
Scooby originally came to AWLA in February of this year when his owner no longer had enough time for him. It was clear from the start that Scooby was a great dog, but kennel life was far too stressful for him. We were able to quickly place him in a foster home where his true personality began to shine: he became a snuggly, easy-going, all-around-awesome dog.
Scooby’s foster mom describes him as low-maintenance, active, and playful. He loves tug-o-war and belly rubs, and is a professional napper. He’s fine hanging out on his own, but will follow you anywhere if you asked him to. He gets along well with other dogs, big and small, and loves making new human friends. He greets humans with curiosity, smells, and a laid-back attitude. Scooby’s fantastic personality did eventually lead to an adoption, but unfortunately it didn’t last long – he was returned after a week because he was stressed with the transition from his foster home to his new home, and the new family didn’t have enough time to help him through it.
Luckily, we were able to put him straight back into his foster home and he’s doing great. He’s house-broken, loves his foster mom’s other dog, and is simply The Best. All he needs now is a family who can give him lots of patience and love while he settles into his new home – he promises he’ll reward them with all the loves and kisses that he has to give.
