Virginia is for lovers… of cherry blossoms!
Can’t make it to DC this spring to see the cherry blossoms? Fear not—the beautiful blooms are budding in several parts of the commonwealth, and we’ve got all you need to know to be able to enjoy the sights.
Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
Location: Richmond
- Admission to the garden is required.
- At the garden, you can see a variety of blooms, including flowers like daffodils, tulips, Virginia bluebells, and, of course, cherry blossoms. There’s even a special Cherry Tree Walkway to enjoy.
Buchanan Cherry Blossoms
Location: Buchanan
- Access is free and open to the public.
- You can walk around and experience the scenic Yoshino Cherry trees along the town’s Main Street, Lowe Street, Town Park, and Boyd Street.
Arlington National Cemetery
Location: Arlington
- Access is free to Arlington National Cemetery.
- Pay your respects to the brave men and women who served our country, under a serene canopy of cherry blossoms budding throughout the cemetery.
Breaux Vineyards
Location: Purcellville
- Indulge in a spectacular food or drink from a vast menu.
- Enjoy a glass of wine while participating in a photo contest featuring the vineyard’s cherry blossom trees.
Long Bridge Park
Location: Arlington
- Admission is free to everyone at the park.
- Explore 36 acres of recreation and open space, just minutes outside of the nation’s capital. Bonus: The cherry blossoms in the area just hit peak bloom.
Cherry Blossom Festival in Red Wing Park 1
Location: Virginia Beach
- This park is free and open to the public; the location’s Cherry Blossom Festival continues on Apr. 5.
- The festival offers “a week-long immersion into Japanese culture through diverse programs including garden tours, cultural performances, martial arts demos, and children’s activities,” according to the festival announcement.
Meadowlark Botanical Gardens
Location: Vienna
- Admission to the garden is required.
- The 95-acre park is currently in peak bloom when it comes to cherry blossoms. Throughout the season, guests can enjoy ornamental and native plant gardens at the site.
Cherry Blossom Tours with Pedego Electric Bikes
Location: Alexandria
- Bike tours available with Pedego Electric Bikes.
- The guided cherry blossom tours start in Old Town, Alexandria, and venture into Washington, DC.

National Cherry Blossom Festival
Location: Tidal Basin, Washington, DC
- Admission is free and open to the public.
- Enjoy the glory of the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin with a self-guided tour. The festival takes place from Mar. 20 to Apr. 13.
2025 White House Garden Tour
Location: The White House, Washington, DC
- Free tickets will be given out on the day of the event, starting at 8 a.m. A limited number of tickets are available.
- White House Lawn tours take place on Saturday, Apr. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 6 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
