US House Republicans approved a budget bill aiming to cut Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood, threatening access to health care for nearly 25,000 Virginians last week. Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia said the bill jeopardizes essential services such as birth control, STI treatments, and cancer screenings, especially in underserved communities.
