Dear readers, we asked you to help us find the best Indian restaurants in Virginia and you did not let us down. For the first annual Virginia Beach Food Guide, you told us exactly which TWO restaurants are worthy of being noted as having the best Indian food in Virginia Beach.
2. Rangsa
Rangsa is described as a Modern Indian Kitchen with oceanfront views. Delightful, right? If the location wasn’t lovely on its own, the food further exemplifies why Rangsa takes home the silver. This second place winner has incredible food, drinks, and views—all reasons as to why a restaurant is considered one of the bests in town.
Rangsa’s curries are rich and spicy, and since they’re oceanside, their seafood dishes are also perfect. Love a rich Masala sauce? Try it with a twist. Get it with either crab or halibut for a seafood take. If you love Indian food, but don’t love seafood—rest assured. Rangsa’s butter chicken and tikka masala are the most popular and most delicious dishes.
1. Saffron Indian Bistro
The gold winner, our number one restaurant for best Indian food, is Saffron Indian Bistro. Saffron doesn’t think all Indian food should be hot and spicy, but rather rich and flavorful with a focus on enhancing and embracing all of the various spices that make up an Indian dish. Of course, heat is part of an Indian dish, but Saffron encourages you to make the meal your own by offering spice levels.
Saffron also has a great lunch buffet that rotates daily, so you’ll always get to try something new. They have the classic Indian dishes, such as butter chicken, which means you can be adventurous or rest on your laurels. No matter your favorite Indian dish, Saffron Indian Bistro will surely offer a delicious meal.
