Virginia Democratic Rep. Don Beyer condemned the Trump administration’s handling of alleged ICE violence, highlighting two incidents involving people in his Northern Virginia district. Beyer described how Carolina Molina, a U.S. citizen, had a gun pointed at her face by an ICE agent after she shouted at officers. He also discussed the case of José Mejía Hernandez, who suffered a traumatic brain injury following an encounter with immigration agents in Arlington. Mejía Hernandez has alleged that officers chased and used a Taser on him. Beyer warned that these cases were part of a broader pattern, citing at least 30 shootings involving DHS agents, nine deaths and 14 injuries since the administration began. He called for accountability and independent investigations into the use of force.
