A couple of weeks ago, I stumbled upon the wonderful world of Whatnot. For those unfamiliar, it’s an app with a similar concept to eBay—just way, way faster auctions. I’m talking literal seconds; you see the item, swipe to bid, and hope you win.
Y’all, I love a good auction, but I haven’t been to one in years. I was deprived. Or at least, that’s what I’m telling myself because I spent way more than I meant to. Yesterday, several of the goodies arrived at my doorstep. Everything from Pokémon cards for my son to knives for my husband and rocks for me.
Sorting through the packages, I oo’d and ahh’d at some, and admittedly laughed at a couple, too. Turns out everything’s not always quite as it seems on an internet auction site. But if you’re feeling the itch to go treasure hunting, Virginia has a plethora of stores to enjoy firsthand—no iffy mail involved. Enjoy the search, and remember, I’m so glad you’re here.

Early voting in the statewide referendum on whether Virginia Democrats can redraw congressional districts to offset Republican gerrymandering in other states began on Friday.
Early in-person voting on the referendum runs through April 18, and the election is scheduled for April 21. At issue is whether Virginia should amend its state constitution to allow Democrats to temporarily redraw the state’s congressional districts in their favor.
Virginia Democrats say they need to do so in response to President Donald Trump’s pressure campaign that persuaded Republican-led states to gerrymander their districts so the GOP wins more seats in this fall’s elections to determine which party controls Congress.
