Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg called for higher taxes on the ultrawealthy during an event in Henrico County, Virginia. Buttigieg said that if the American economy can produce a trillionaire, that person should pay at least as high a tax rate as a nurse, schoolteacher, firefighter or sailor. Buttigieg made the remarks at a rally supporting Virginia Democratic congressional candidates Elaine Luria, Shannon Taylor and Tom Perriello.
